Today is Oreo's 100th birthday!

And it's been a loooong day

I say it's about time to wrap things up [in chocolate chips].

'Twas the night before Christmas and of our Holiday Fête

There were cookies to make and drinks still to get

The baking stuffs all were laid out with such care

I was in transit, but soon would be there

After a half-day of travel, into the kitchen I darted

The cookies, I exclaimed, they must get started!

There is no time to lose, we've deadlines to meet

And where would we be without cookies to eat?

The confections were plated, piled high in a dome

The guests came and mingled and then drifted home

A good night, we judged, by the crumbs on the plate

Merry Christmas to all, a week or so late!

It's turkey lurkey cookie time!

As I am sure we are all aware, The Cookie Competition took place today in Beaver Creek, CO, where I am not exactly roughing it for Thanksgiving. And, as I am not a skier or very fond of the cold, it is only for such an event that I would brave the extreme chill and leave my seat by the fire. The cookies, they must be tasted!

The finalists, clockwise from top-left were; Black Diamond Chocolate Chip Cookie, Powder Day Delight, Caramel Explosion, Crazy Kota's Killer Chocolate Chip Cookie, and The Founder's Favorite.

Caramel Explosion got my vote but The Founder's Favorite was a close second. Thanks to the Vail Daily, the recipes (written to bake in altitude) for my picks follow.
